L'ULTRA MARATHON LA TRAVERSÉE (61 km)

Ultra Marathon La Traversée, this newcomer in 2020, offers you a complex and technical trail. The half-way stop at Lac Cascapédia will make you discover a hiding jewel in the heart of the Chic-Chocs. An hard and demanding race where you’ll climb a total of 6 summits and enjoy the amazing views!

INFORMATION

 

Round-trip semi self-sufficient trail including 4 checkpoint stations, within which 3 of them are solid and liquid equipped. First aid teams will be waiting there too. Other First aids teams will be place on the trail.

Route:

 

Start and finish of the race at the Village. Racers start by La Serpentine Trail to climb Mont-Olivine (670m) with its beautiful view on the Chic-Chocs. Then they will start Grande Cuve ascension and descent to the Refuge La Paruline. Continuing to the Mont du Milieu and Mont Ells summits, they will arrive half-way at the Lac Cascapédia. Racers will the go back the same way they came and then, start climbing the Mont Albert at Le Versant junction. After climbing to the Mont Albert’s summit (1088m), it will be the last stretch down the mountain to the Village and the end of the Ultra Marathon La Traversée. 

 

In total, racers will climb 6 summits between hard and really hard technical sections, with of variation of altitude between 670 m and 1088 m.

Aid stations:

 

Going : Abri La Serpentine (liquid) (11,3 km), Refuge La Paruline (solid and liquid) (25,6km), Lac Cascapédia (solid and liquid) (34,4 km).

 

Way back : Refuge La Paruline (solid and liquid) (42,4 km), arriving at the village (61,5 km).
